CARBON
Carbon will capture the imagination with a myriad of investigative topics to explore. We’ll be discovering about the human body and taking a journey through what makes us human, and the systems that keep us going. Turning to Chemistry for an adventure in acids and alkalis as we visit the pH Factory. To infinity and beyond is where we’ll be blasting off to as we soar across the solar system and look at some pretty nifty space tech! but wait! It might be time for damage control! Call in the Mad Scientists we have a disaster zone incoming!
Warning! Warning! Incoming walloping weather! Batten down the hatches we’ve got a disaster to divert. Can you save the town from the volcano lava flow? Get in a twist with tornados and wiggle your way through the richter scale on our balance plates. It all gets a bit tectonic today!
Children are introduced to the concept of pH, acids, and alkalis through a series of engaging, inquiry-based experiments and exciting demonstrations. These concepts are applied using household items to improve children’s understanding of the nature and purpose of the chemicals they often encounter. They learn how household chemicals are safely handled.
We’re screaming across the solar system and entering the glistening galaxies as we go to infinity and beyond! As our favourite space captain once said. We’ll be getting up to some right cosmic capers as we take in the planets and interstellar phenomenon – crash landing your own comet to create the biggest crater.
You walk around in it everyday, but how much do you really know about the human body? Find out what happens to the food we eat as we get messy and we explore the digestive system. Find out why our skeletons are so useful as we recreate the movement of a hand. Unzip the blueprints of living organisms as we examine DNA.
COPPER
Dust yourself and get down to business as we dig for dino bones and uncover ancient artefacts. There’s Chemical Mysteries to untangle. Then jump into your house robes for a day at Hogwarts where you will attend lessons in potions, charms and spell casting and even get some quidditch practice in. All that before you have fun with the explorations on offer during Newton day! There’s one thing for certain – there’s no copp out with Copper Week!
Get ready to dig a little deeper and find out what treasures lie beneath the surface. Lets take a trip through time as we uncover the techniques of archaeologists and palaeontologists. Make your own fossil and recreate a full sized T.rex skeleton.
Who knew what mysteries could be uncovered in the world of chemistry? Check off the clues as we decide on chemical or physical – does it bubble or fizz? Why did that change colour? Where’s my cup?! and I though it was a solid? All these conundrums and more as we uncover the Chemmysteries.
Who will the sorting hat have you join? We’ll have you conjuring spells in no
time as we transform camp to Hogwarts for the day! Create your marauders map to
navigate each class before you go headfirst into herbology with Prof Sprout. Can you
dream up the new wonder sweet for Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes? What potions will you
master before the day’s end. There’s no dark art here.
A day full of great hands on experiments that allow children to get to grips with some fundamental forces. Challenging scenarios will allow them to explore their centre of gravity and balance – don’t get your head in a spin with our gyroscopes! Children will then delve into Newtons three laws with some fun forces games and experiments!

MISSION:CREATIVE & SLIME!
Typically hosted at the end of each camp week, Mission Creative Challenge Day is a day to explore problem solving, encourage critical
thinking and teamwork. Combination of design, planning and discussions, followed by prototyping modelling and action!
Included in the day is a slime make & take, allowing kids to get stuck into our secret slime recipes, and even get to take home their own pots after participating in the coveted weekly, SLIME OLYMPICS.
Different challenges are presented each week to keep returning campers engaged.
HELIUM
Things get really wild in this week with Animal Planet taking over as we explore everything from creepy crawlies to our furry friends.. Let imaginations run wild as we’re inspired by the tales of Roald Dahl and concoct some marvellous medicines. An exploratory look at Chemical Reactions as we get Junior reactive! Fire it up with an energetic look at Electricity and magnetism with plenty of hair raising experiences.
A great day to start exploring our fury and not so furry friends! The children get to investigate habitats and unique adaptations along with creating their very own new animal. Will you be able to identify all our animals with just their footprints? Get up and close to some amazing
creepy crawlies from around the world and explore the different defence mechanisms they use to scare those predators away!
Experience true imagination as we step into a world of Roald Dahl’s creation. Do you know your fizz-whizzers from your fizzy lifting drinks? Become Willy Wonka as we explore the science of sweets. Enter the world of James and the Giant Peach as we become familiar with creepy crawlies. And get your ingredients ready as we recreate the mad mixtures of George’s Marvellous Medicine and The Witches.
Explore todays science lab and all its equipment, get set pouring and mixing solutions to prepare you as a lab scientists. Then hop on board the chemistry express for a high speed science experience.
Feel the buzz of excitement in the air as electrons wizz through our circuits and our bodies! Indoor lightning sparks the day, before getting to grips with magnetic attraction. We’ll have you stand to attention as we link circuits and blow bulbs. It’s a sure fire recipe for a truly hair raising day about electricity and power.
NITROGEN
Do you have super science senses? You certainly will after immersing yourself in this week of Super Science Sleuthing! We’re looking at our super human senses, delving into the science of crime science investigation. Will you be our Science Superhero and help save the day from those pesky villains? Don’t be put off by too much pressure as we lift plenty of air in to the space. Nitrogen week is a fantastic blend of physics, biology, technology and the natural world! Come see for yourself
Jump into Mad Science Super hero training! Learn about hulk juice and how to not make the same mistakes Bruce Banner did, investigate spiderman’s webs, design new superhero gadgets even batman would be proud of and learn your own superhero skills!
Touch it, taste it, smell it, hear it and see it all for yourself as we bring to life the 5 alive senses! Are
you a super duper taster? Can you tell what it is yet? Get stuck into our mystery feely boxes and
challenge your friends to a blind taste test. Did you see that? There’s plenty of light bending illusions
to trick even the sharpest of eyes & minds
Under Pressure is an exciting immersion in the science of air pressure and Bernoulli’s principle. Children enjoy the exciting tale of the Viking ship while learning about thermodynamics and weather systems. A hopping, hovering table tennis ball lets children experiment with unbalanced air pressure. Air-blasting Airzookas are a fun way to understand the physics of breathing. Children apply their knowledge to overcome gravity using compressed air.
Deer stalkers and magnifying glasses at the ready… the game’s afoot! Can you uncover the clues and help solve the mystery? You’ll be dusting for prints and digging for DNA, chemical analysis back from the lab has given you a lead. But can you piece it all together before your suspect gets away? Join the crime science investigators on their case today.
OXYGEN
We shed light on the fundamentals on why things glow in the dark and how we see the rainbow of colours! Let imaginations run wild as we’re inspired by the tales of Roald Dahl and concoct some marvellous medicines. Be sure to stick with it through to slime and super sticky stuff to get to grips with some adhesive science and top the week off by pushing your limits and discover about the human body and it’s movements. Breathe! It’s Oxygen week!
Let’s get ultraviolet, We delve deep into the visual and invisible, world as we explore light & colour. You’ll have glowing reviews of this day as we get to grips with photoluminescence. Why do things glow in the dark? Rainbow visions and prisms full of colour are the order of the day finishing with a bang as we set our indoor fireworks ablaze!
Roll up, roll up, get your red noses ready and practise your juggling because we’re bring the circus to camp. We’ll be taking to the high wire to understand the science of keeping your balance. Don’t get yourself in a spin as we look into all things round, from unicycles to magic rings. Discover the secrets of the sideshows and exciting spectacles that draw the crowds into the circus.
Pick a card, any card, and watch it dissappear in a plume of smoke! Step into the Mad Science magic circle and master the skills behind a magicians most daring tricks. In a day full of explosive wands, a dragon’s fiery breath, and vortex generation, you’ll sure be left in a state of awe and wonder!
Let’s dive right in and explore the mysterious depths of the world’s oceans. From sandy beaches to dark trenches, the sea is home to a wide variety of life. Find out where waves and tides come from and investigate how we can do our part to protect the sea. More than 80% of the ocean has never been mapped, explored, or even seen by humans but there’s still plenty to learn about this watery world.
SODIUM
Sodium – Inventors assemble! We’re putting your creative cogs through the mill in this week of wacky inventions and amazing discoveries. Delve back into the history books and witness the discoveries that shaped our knowledge today, explore rocketry before rummaging through the kitchen cupboards in search of chemical reactions in this action packed week – jammed full of fun activities and awesome experiments. Eureka! We’ve got it!
It’s a recipe ripe for the making. Fling open the kitchen cupboards as we make cabbage indicator and crush up foodstuffs for the test. Why does washing powder glow in the dark and does fizz make a drink acidic? There’s plenty of homebased reactions to cook up in this day – and even have a crazy clean up solution to make even doing the dishes fun!
Take a trip through time as we look at the civilizations and individuals who made lasting changes to the world around them. Learn to tell the time and write like an Egyptian. Experience your own “eureka” moments as we learn from Archimedes. And rediscover the technological advances of the Victorian era.
Don your space suits and step inside the command module as we
become astronauts in training! Feel the Gs as we find fun with forces. Rocketeer
your way through a series of build and create challenges before reaching our
Mad Science Space Station – do you have steady hands and nerves of steel?
We need your help to fix the circuits -challenge accepted – it’s time to work in
space!
With a little bit of ingenuity children will create catapults and forts, construct
working inventions and mad machines to overly engineer a task. It’s all about inventions and
discovery – While Thomas Edison said Invention is 10% Inspiration and 90% Perspiration… this
camp is 100% FUN!
MERCURY
Whether you’re an architect in the making, or an engineer at heart there’s plenty to get stuck into in this week. We’ll encourage you to feel the power of the force and forge your alliances as you get to grips with mind control with the Jedi Training. Challenge yourself by pushing your limits and discover about the human body and it’s movements. Whacky water! A drenchtastic display of the science of water. So abundant yet so fascinating to explore. Come join us.
Welcome to the wonderfully wacky world of water. Perform some molecular magic by making substances disappear and reappear. Make a splash as we balance liquids on top of each other and experience the power of water as it tries to stick to itself. Get those wet floor signs ready, this could be a messy one.
Feel the force young padawan! You’ll be put through your paces as you use mind control to navigate our mindflex zone, cast fear in the dark with a make your own lightsaber workshop and get extra terrestrial as we uncover the science behind the imperial guard – can you rustle up the reaction for the rebellion?
Push the body to limits and discover the amazing things us humans can do! We’ll
put you through your paces as you discover your awesome abilities. Lightning fast reactions will
be key to the headstart whilst aerodynamics will have you in a bit of a puff. How much air does
your body hold? Take a dive in the air tank and find out. Let’s push the limits!
Don the hard hat it’s time to get to work – spaghetti super structures and marvellous marshmallow towers kick off the day before we get geometric with the Mad Science Camp dome. We’ll have you walking on eggshells and testing tensile strength as you become architects, and junior engineers for the day!
NEON
The natural world and the ecosystems around us are the foundations to the explorations to kick off Neon week. There’s plenty of chemistry in the Chemworks Lab as we look at lightning fast reactions and awe inspiring results! Parachutes at the ready, Bernoulli’s principles take flight in WING IT! A day filled with aerospace design and build. All before getting sustainable! We’re investigating renewable energy, greener choices and pesky plastics Phew! What a week!
Get your green fingers at the ready and we dig into the power of plants. Investigate how plants grow and affect the world around us. Harness the colours of nature and explore the wide variety of flora across the world. Experience how seeds can spread across great distances.
Hop on board the chemistry express for a high-speed science experience! Perform instantaneous experiments in this fast-paced class on splitsecond reactions that go like mad! Learn about the bubbling and colours of spectacular chemical changes, have fun with exploding canisters and even make your own bouncy balls.
It’s time to take flight and master the science of aerodynamics and Bernoulli! Don’t let it drag you down as you create fantastic flying machines, overcome the air’s forces and drop down into parachuting egg-speriments. If all else fails… just wing it!
Twinkle twinkle little star, thanks to Mad Science I know exactly what you are! Conquer the cosmos on this day by exploring the lives of the powerful gasseous giants that light up our universe. Get to know our own star before launching out into space and learning the wonderful constellations that dance around above us. You’ll never be able to look at the night sky the same again!
